This document is intented to guide and clarify the process of how to acquire new clients for BreadCrumbs from external partners.

BreadCrumbs provides an on-chain Affiliate and Referral Web3 Marketing Platform with performance-based pricing that combines automated campaign management, complete analytics tracking, and community-powered marketing in one seamless solution.

How a campaign and tracking actually Works

BreadCrumbs tracking follows this transparent process, which partners should understand:

Page Creation

When a client creates a campaign, a dedicated and hosted page is created in the BreadCrumbs platform and a smart contract is deployed to manage the campaign. It must be shared with the participants (referrers/affiliates).

Participants (referrer/affiliate) go to the campaign page and generate their unique link. They share their link with their audience.

User Journey

Event Capture

When users click the link, we capture this interaction and create a traceable identifier.

Redirection

The user is redirected to the campaign’s destination page.

Conversion Recording

When users complete target actions (visit, signup, wallet connection, purchase), a conversion event is written to the blockchain.

Attribution Verification

Smart contracts verify which referrer deserves credit for the conversion

Automatic Rewards

Upon verification, the smart contract automatically transfers the reward to the referrer’s account address.

Claiming

Participants can claim their rewards from the campaign page.

This creates an end-to-end trackable marketing funnel with zero possibility of missed attributions or payment disputes. Participants might recurrently want to come back to check their performance and claim their rewards.

FAQs In Simple Language

Q: Does it require coding to implement? A: We provide hosted pages for participants to create links and claim rewards. Basic campaigns tracking visits start with zero technical integration. Advanced conversion tracking (time-on-page, wallet connections, email subscriptions, logins, purchases, API requests, smart contract interactions, …) requires a small technical integration from customer side. We provide easy to integrate both client side script and server side API.

This is not implemented yet. We’re working on providing tracking for more events on client side.

Recommendation for understanding the product

For a better understanding of the product, we recommend directly going to the platform and creating a campaign (There’s no need to publish it or add funds).

You can directly go to the platform and easily create a campaign in the platform in the Builders > My Campaigns > Create campaign page.

We also provide two complete walkthrough guides for further help:

Limitations of the current version

  • Tracking are only available on Polygon Network.
  • Funding, rewards and payments are only available on POL token.
  • “URL visit” is the only conversion supported (no integration required from the client side).

We’re working on adding more features, chains, tokens, conversion types, reward types, etc.

4. About Pricing

Philosophy

BreadCrumbs is a performance-based marketing platform, which is committed to our clients by charging them only a small fee when they generate results.

Pricing example

While it’s very simple to understand the pricing, let’s consider a hypothetical scenario to exemplify how the pricing works:

Budget and reward

A client wants to create a campaign with a $10,000 budget and $10 reward for each conversion completed (1000 conversions)

Platform fee

BreadCrumbs would charge 7.5% ($750) as our platform fee

Campaign creation

The client creates the campaign and allocates $10,750 to the campaign (campaign budget + platform fee). This is just locking the amount on the smart contract.

Conversion tracking

For every conversion completed by a user:

  • Referrer gets its reward: + $10
  • Platform charges the small fee of 7.5% of the conversion value: $10 * 7.5% = + $0.75
  • Budget from the campaign is reduced accordingly: - $10.75

Completion

Campaign ends when:

  • Campaign reaches the expected number of conversions. Meaning, when the budget is 0 (or less than reward value)
  • Client decides to cancel the campaign. Remaining budget is returned to the client.

BreadCrumbs is committed to maintaining a positive ROI for the client. That’s why you’re free to cancel anytime and get a refund, and we won’t charge you for that portion of the campaign.

5. How You Get Paid

Partnership Structure

As a BreadCrumbs acquisition partner, your compensation is based on a direct, personalized agreement:

Commission Basics:

  • Each partnership is individually negotiated directly with the founder
  • Commission is calculated as a percentage of BreadCrumbs’ revenue
  • We take (7.5-15%) fee from each campaign’s conversion value
  • Your commission comes from our fee revenue

How It Works in Practice

Example Scenario:

  1. You refer a Web3 project that wants to create a campaign with a $10,000 budget
  2. BreadCrumbs charges 7.5% ($750) as our platform fee
  3. Client must create the campaign allocating total $10,750
  4. Your negotiated commission (e.g., 20% of our fee) would be $150 from this campaign (20% of $750)
  5. When the campaign has generated at least $150 benefit for BreadCrumbs, you get your commission

BreadCrumbs must guarantee the quality of the referred client, that’s why we pay referrals only when we can assert we are not losing money with the deal.

While payments are currently processed manually, we’re developing an automated system that will provide real-time tracking and distribution as we scale.
